Events & Coaching
for Humans in Tech

About This Project

What I'm Doing & Why

I'm an engineer by training and a contemplative by inclination.

This puts me in a strange position. I see so much suffering in the tech industry: stressful on-call rotations, sudden layoffs and terrifying technical interviews, performance reviews, struggles with management, and more. But so many of the tools and practices that finally helped me escape workaholism, impostor syndrome, and constant self-criticism are usually packaged in a way that trigger every allergic reaction of an analytical engineer's mind.

I want to help analytical people find a happier way of navigating their world.

So I'm developing a series of events and coaching programs that integrate my understanding of complex systems (drawing especially on Resilience Engineering) with the tools and practices I've learned from contemplative traditions.

What you see here are early prototypes.

Beyond Competence: Finding the limits of "good at"

Online Workshop

Competence can be joyful and empowering. It's also limited — and limiting. We'll explore competence and the terrain that lies beyond being "good at" things. Bring a journal and your curiosity!

This workshop is designed for people who work in engineering orgs at software companies, but all are welcome as long as you can tolerate some industry jargon along the way. :)

  • Cost: $15 + 15 minutes of feedback
  • Duration: 2 hours (including feedback session)
  • Bonus: Attendees get a free 1:1 coaching call

Additional dates TBA

Coaching

1:1 Coaching

I offer coaching support that's pragmatic, intuitive, and reverent, with a healthy dose of goofiness! I work especially well with people who are grappling with the challenges of modern tech careers and/or recovering from intellectual fundamentalism.

To find out if we're a good match, set up a free 20-minute connection call.

Team Coaching

I've always loved working with teams, whether as an individual contributor, engineering manager, or product manager. Teams, like individuals, have their own personalities, strengths, and dysfunctions. I'm experimenting with working as a coach for teams who want to be more effective in their organization.

Interested? Ditto above, set up a free 20-minute connection call.

There are two ways to connect right now: sign up for a workshop, or set up a connection call.

Talking to real people about what excites them about my mission and how I could serve them best is by far the best way for me to validate my hare-brained schemes.
